Nankai Railway Koya line between Koyashita and Koyasan, and also Cable Car are closed at this point due to the damage by heavy rain storm in mid October.It may take a long time to fix. Substitute bus service is available between Hashimoto and Koyasan but it is limited. Please see the link below to find more information:

On second day of my trip, I flied to Akita and visited Kakunodate. I have been to Kakunodate but my mother had asked me to take her to Kakunodate. Actually she requested Takachiho and Kakunodate.
We had already done Takachiho 4 years ago. This was another task of me. I had JR pass but I booked the domestic flight from Itami (another Osaka airport) to Akita. I made the trip to Japan in this past February. At that time, I visited Hiroshima, Kakunodate, Yamadera, Magome, Matsumoto, Shirakawago, Takayama, Kanazawa, Nagano Snow Monkey valley and Kurashiki.
