Limited Express Ayame (あやめ) is operated between Tokyo (東京) and Choshi (銚子), Kashima-Jingu (鹿島神宮). Choshi is well know as home of soy sauce and fishing port. Kashima-Jingu is one of the most famous shrine in Japan.

Route, schedule and travel time
2 round trips of Ayame are operated. This trains is limited express train but it is a kind of commuter train. Trains to Tokyo are operated in morning peak hours and to Choshi / Kashima-Jingu in evening peak hour. If you go to Choshi, avoid to take this train and get on Limited Express Shiosai.
Tokyo – Choshi : 1 round trip Tokyo – Kashima-Jingu : 1 round trip
All Ayame are operated as local train between Sawara and Choshi / Kashima-Jingu If you use the pass, such JR Pass or JR East Pass, you don’t need to care about it. But if you purchase single ticket, you can enjoy limited express trains’ accommodation without surcharge.
