This post is continued from the previous post, Trip to Aizu, Nikko and Hakone in 2014 winter – Part 8, winter festival in Ouchi-juku.

After visiting Ouchi-juku last night, I enjoyed the Onsen bath and had a good sleep. Before I leave, I enjoyed Japanese breakfast. I don’t usually have a big breakfast. But whenever I am on trip, I can eat lots in the morning.

It was snowing still.

Aizu Mount Express arrived at Yunokami Onsen station on time.

I took this train again. As of March 2014, three round trips of Aizu Mount Express run between Aizu Wakamatsu and Kinugawa Onsen. But one of three round trips goes to Nikko. And another one of three trips goes to Kitakata. Aizu Mount Express which I got on went to Nikko directly.

On this day, travel attendants were on board. They sold local foods, souvenirs and drinks.

At Aizu Tajima station where is located between Aizu Wakamatsu and Kinugawa Onsen, the operator was changed.

This station is the border of the electrified section and non electrified. Some of Tobu Railway’s trains run from Asakusa to this station. It’s one of the longest run private company’s train.

After this train left Aizu Tajima, the weather was getting nicer.

After the train crossed the bridge, it went into the tunnel.

This is not a subway. This is Yunishigawa Onsen station. This station is located in the tunnel. There is a hot spa above the station. As you see, there were so many passengers on the platform.

The train passed JR Nikko station just before arriving in Tobu Nikko station.

It was a beautiful day and perfect to visit Nikko temples and shrines. I will write about Nikko in next post, Trip to Aizu, Nikko and Hakone in 2014 winter – Part 10, sightseeing in Nikko.

I and my partner would be interested in taking the Aizu line to visit the different sites / villages along the way. Do you know if there exists an Aizu Pass for several days?
