Wide View Nanki is suspended between Kumanoshi and Kii Katsuura due to the damage by typhoon. (C)800px-JRC_Kiha85_Series01 / User:Kansai explorer

Between Shirahama (白浜) and Kumanoshi (熊野市) on Kii line (紀伊本線) in Kii peninsula were closed due to huge typhoon. JR West and JR Central announced they will complete to restore on December 3, 2011.

Between Shirahama and Kii-Tanabe (紀伊田辺)

It was restored on September 17, 2011 (Sat). All trains are operated as normal on this section.

Between Kii-Tanabe and Kii-Katsuura (紀伊勝浦)

It was restored on September 26, 2011 (Mon). But many trains are still suspended between Kii-Tanabe and Kii-Katsuura. And the substitute bus services are operated. Please check the updated schedule when you travel in this area.

Between Kii-Katsuura and Kumanoshi

The bridge was swept away near Kumanoshi station. All trains are suspended at this moment. And JR Central have not announced how long it will be restored. JR Central has announced that they will start to operate the trains on October 11, 2011. But the section between Kii-Katsuura and Shingu is still closed. JR Central operate 10 round trips of the substitution bus service on this section now.
It will be restored on December 3, 2011
