Uehommachi and Tanimachi 9-chome (Tanimachi Kyuchome) are same location. Osaka Metro station name is Tanimachi 9-chome and Kintetsu Railway station name is Osaka-Uehommachi. This area is a few stations away from Namba and Tennoji. This is a convenient location to stay and there are some hotels in this area.
In this post, I show you several ways to get Uehommachi and Tanimachi 9-chome area. You can find the best route which is most suitable for you.
Overview
You have to take Osaka Metro, Kintetsu Railway or Airport Limousine bus to get Uehommachi and Tanimachi 9-chome area.
Airport Limousine Bus – the easiest and the fastest way
Travel time : 55 minutes
Fare : 1,600 yen
This is only way to get Uehommachi and Tanimachi 9-chome directly from Kansai airport. The bus runs mostly every 30 minutes. It offers very frequent service.
Kansai airport – Osaka Uehommachi limousine bus timetable and fare
On the other hand, this bus is not covered by any train passes. You have to pay a regular fare to take this bus. There is no deals available but if you make a round trip, the round trip fare is 2,900 yen. You can save a bit.
If you want to use JR Pass or other train passes, you may take other routes below.
If you go to Tanimachi 6-chome or 4-chome, you have to take Osaka Metro Tanimachi line from Tanimachi 9-chome. You cannot take the advantage of this direct service. You can get Tanimachi 6-chome or 4-chome with one transfer by other ways.
Tennoji route by The limited express Haruka (JR train)
Travel time : Approximately 50 minutes
Transfer at Tennoji is required.
*Haruka to Tennoji and Osaka Metro Tanimachi line to Tanimachi 9-chome, Tanimachi 6-chome, Tanimachi 4-chome
Fare : 2,270 yen for Kansai airport to Tennoji by Haruka
180 yen for Tanimachi 9-chome and Tanimachi 6-chome, 230 yen for Tanimachi 4-chome by Osaka Metro Tanimachi line
*JR Pass and other JR passes cover Haruka fully.
If you use JR Pass, Kansai Area Pass, Kansai Wide Area Pass, Kansai Hiroshima Area Pass, Takayama Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass, Sanyo Sanin Area Pass, Kansai Hokuriku Area Pass, you may take Haruka without any extra charge. If you want to maximize using the pass, take Haruka to get Tennoji. And you have to transfer to Osaka Metro Tanimachi line in Tennoji station. But this subway ride is not coverd by JR Pass and other JR train passes.

Kansai Airport Rapid (JR train)

180 yen for Tanimachi 9-chome and Tanimachi 6-chome, 230 yen for Tanimachi 4-chome by Osaka Metro Tanimachi line

*JR Pass and other JR passes cover this fare fully.
Kansai Airport Rapid is a commuter’s train. The interior is nothing special. If you use JR Pass or other JR train passes, you can take this train. But the limited express Haruka is better. You can take this train when you cannot take the limited express Haruka.
Nankai Railway Airport Express and Osaka Metro via Namba – Most affordable way
Travel time : approximately 1 hour
Fare : 1,020 yen (Nankai Railway and Osaka Metro deal)
Airport Express is an ordinary commute train. The interior is nothing special.
You may take this train from Kansai airport to Namba. And then you can transfer to Osaka Metro Sennichimae line to get Tanimachi 9-chome. If you go to Tanimachi 6-chome or Tanimachi 4-chome, you have to transfer Osaka Metro one more time at Tanimachi 9-chome.

Osaka Subway to Kansai int’l Airport (Nankai Railway and Osaka Metro combo deal)
You can buy this ticket at the vending machine in Kansai airport station. If you go to Kansai airport from Osaka, you can buy this at the vending machine in Osaka Metro stations.
If you already have IC card, such as Suica, ICOCA, Kansai One Pass in your hand and want to use it, you may use it. But Osaka Subway to Kansai int’l Airport deal is cheaper.

The limited express Rapi:t (Nankai Railway)
Travel time : 40 to 50 minutes
Fare : 1,140 yen (online discount ticket) for Kansai airport to Namba
180 yen for Tanimachi 9-chome and Tanimachi 6-chome, 230 yen for Tanimachi 4-chome by Osaka Metro Sennichimae line and Tanimachi line
Rapi:t is the fastest and most comfortable way to get Namba. This train connects Kansai airport and Namba directly. This train offers very comfortable seat than Airport Express.
The fare is higher than the previous one, Airport Express. But it is worth paying.
This train is not covered by Nanki Railway and Osaka subway deal which I mentioned above fully. The seat fee 520 yen is extra on top of Nankai Railway and Osaka Metro combo deal. But if you use Rapi:t Webtoku Ticket (Rapi:t online deal), the fare for Kansai airport to Namba is 1,140 yen. You have to add a fare for Osaka Metro. But the total cost is cheaper than Combo deal and a seat fee.
If you want to take a train with a nice seat and do not intend using JR Pass or other JR deals, this choice is recommended.
This train is NOT covered by JR Pass and other JR train passes. You must buy Kanku Webtoku Ticket.
