  3. Sherly says:

Hi, does the train have luggage storage? Is the All Shikoku Rail Pass valid for reserved seats?
    Thank you.

  4. Andy says:

I rode the Nanpu Ltd Exp to Kochi 3 weeks ago and it was quite impressive. The part of the ride through the central mountainous area of Shikoku was akin to the run of the Wide View Hida to Takayama, but was much more dramatic . The valleys were deeper, the slopes steeper, and the mountains more overwhelming. Looking up into the cloudy sky expecting the vague outlines of clouds, I could make out the faint traces of trees lining the very top of those seemingly impossibly tall giants that stretched deep into the distance.

For those who had spent too long a time in the flat plains of the great urban centres of Japan, the ride is a good reminder that Japan is mountain country.

    • Hi Andy,

Thank you for sharing your amazing experience.
I believe that valley is Oboke-Koboke. I have taken that train many many years ago. I need to brush up my memory. I wish I go back there! 🙂

      Cheers,

      Takeshi / JP Rail
